FAQs

What type of massage do you offer?

I am trained in a vast amount of techniques including: vocal massage, shiatsu, Swedish, deep tissue, structural integration, sports, etc. The type of treatment you receive will be specific to your body, profession, goals, and assessment. Most of the time, I use myofascial release to effect tissue change.

How long are sessions?

Typical sessions are 60 or preferably 90 minutes. Shorter sessions are reserved for existing clients with a current treatment plan.

How often should I get treatment?

It depends on your training volume, recovery needs, and current pain / restrictions. Could be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

Will it hurt?

You may feel intensity or strong sensation, especially during deeper work or myofascial release, but it should never feel sharp, alarming, or out of control.

Myofascial work often creates sensations described as stretching, pressure, heat, pulling, or a slow release. Some areas may feel tender at first, followed by a noticeable sense of ease or improved movement.

Communication is key. I adjust pressure and technique based on your feedback to make sure the work is effective, productive, and within your comfort zone.

Will it hurt?

Some clients experience mild soreness, similar to what you might feel after a productive training session. This usually resolves within 24–48 hours and is often followed by improved mobility, reduced tension, or easier movement.

Staying hydrated, moving gently, and following any post-session recommendations can help support recovery.

Can I train or perform the same day?

In many cases, yes — it depends on the type of session, your schedule, and what your body needs that day.

Lighter, performance-prep or mobility-focused work is often appropriate before training or a performance and can help you feel more open, supported, and ready to move. Deeper or more corrective sessions are usually better scheduled on recovery days or after intense training or shows.

I’ll always tailor the session to your timeline so the work supports your performance rather than interfering with it.
