more than massage

proudly WORKing WITH ATHLETES AND PERFORMERS IN:

MS, CSCS, LMT

My approach is built on the understanding that recovery and performance are inseparable.

More than massage means understanding the body beyond the treatment table. With a background in strength & conditioning and manual therapy, I design bodywork that complements training, enhances movement quality, and supports long-term performance rather than short-term relief.

philosophy:

Manual therapy and training aren’t separate worlds; they’re two sides of the same process.

I combine deep knowledge of anatomy and movement with years of practical experience in high-performance environments.

Assess, don’t guess

I evaluate movement and performance patterns before designing the treatment plan.

Treat with purpose

Manual work is specific and aligned with the sport or role as well as periodized to the season.

Recover with strategy

Bodywork is used to restore function and enhance the hard work built on stage and in sport

Manual therapy opens the door and movement teaches the body how to walk through it repeatedly.

WHAT I CAN/CAN’T HELP WITH

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • A detailed assessment of what’s hurting, what movement or function is limited.

  • Hands-on work paired with mobility / corrective exercise as needed.

  • Guidance on self-care: what you can do between sessions to support recovery.

  • Honest feedback: I’ll tell you what’s going well, what needs attention, what to expect.

WHAT I CAN’T HELP WITH:

  • I’m not a physical therapist or surgeon — if you have a serious structural or acute injury that needs medical imaging or surgical intervention, you’ll need that care first.

  • I don’t offer general spa-type massages. My focus is on performance, recovery, athletic / artistic functional movement.

  • If you are in acute care post-surgery (early phase), your treatment plan must come from your doctor / physical therapist; I can assist later.

ABOUT ME

BONNIE KERLIN

Before I ever worked on a massage table or trained clients, I spent over a decade on stage as a professional performer. That experience taught me what it really means to demand precision, endurance, and resilience from your body and how quickly pain or fatigue can take that away.

After years of performing, I shifted my focus behind the scenes to help others stay at their best. I became a licensed massage therapist, and for the past eight years, I’ve worked with athletes and artists who live at the intersection of movement and excellence.

I hold an undergraduate degree in Sports Science and a Master’s in Kinesiology, and I’m a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)—credentials that allow me to merge evidence-based training with hands-on bodywork.

My clients range from Broadway and Cirque du Soleil performers to Olympians, NCAA Division I athletes, ECHL hockey players, NWSL soccer pros, and most recently, WNBA athletes and Unrivaled Basketball players.

Whether it’s an artist performing eight shows a week or an athlete pushing through a playoff run, my approach stays the same: identify the cause, treat the issue, and build the strength to keep performing at the highest level.
